Where are all my bloggers?

Where are you all? Come and talk to me!

This is our first ever back pain support group!!!

Am I to assume you have all successfully resolved your back pain through the back cd exercises? If so, I am a very happy bunny and will eat lots of cake at christmas...

steer clear of Horsham!!

Hi Geoff! Sorry for the delay in replying...took me a while to stop laughing...wasn't sure if you were making it up or not! Best stear clear of Horsham and bicycle racks me thinks. Well I cannot account for events such as this occuring in the process of following the 6 weeks exercise program...you best start again I think!! Your back will have really tightened up in response to a shock like that and will need the full stretching program again. YES the ice packing is very important in an acute injury (5 mins on 5 mins off, 3 times). For the long term tight muscles I advised you to use hot and cold packs alternately (3 mins hot, 1 min cold) - It REALLY works Geoff - persevere.

Hi Karen,
When your muscles have been tight for a long time, you get a build up of toxins (metabolites etc) in them. When you start to stretch out the muscles and they begin to relax, the toxins are released. This can cause you to feel achey, fluey, you may get headaches, and feel generally rough. Rotten I know, but it's only temporary and will calm down as your muscles develop strength....keep going! Maybe just be a little more gentle on yourself, don't stretch with too much vigour!
